Feral brows are the bushy and beautiful trend that's set to be *big* this summer

Before you book your next brow appointment, you might want to give your stragglers another chance to shine, because one beauty trend that’s set to be huge this summer, is feral brows.

According to the grids of our favourite MUAs like Nikki Wolff and Emma Chen, long, unruly, unkempt brows are in. And the good news is that they put all of that extra regrowth we’ve been sprouting over winter to good use. It may sound pretty wild (quite literally) but it’s a high-low mix that works especially well when the rest of your makeup is sharp and sleek, to balance out the overall look. Think of it like a tailored trousers and trainers combo, but for your face, it’s a relaxed way to add interest and hit that smart-casual vibe just right.

Since we all know by now that brows are sisters, not twins, feral brows play up the individuality of each of our brows and appreciates every single hair no matter whether it’s a little spiky dude growing back through, or a big long sucker that’s skipped a trim.

Now that our brows are taking on an even more starring role in our makeup (with the other half of our face covered by our mask), it’s a slick way to add character. The best part is that it’s a breeze to style.

Take note: the spoolie on the end of your brow pencil is the MVP of this look. You can stick to simply brushing your brows up and out to let those freak hairs fly, and set in place with a little brow gel (we love Charlotte Tilbury’s Brow Fix), or you can fill in gaps with some very minimal faux strokes, makeup artist Emma Chen, uses MAC’s Shape & Shade Brow Tint to sketch in dinky hairs thanks to the precision offered up by the felt tip. Keep product at the head, or beginning of your brow to a minimum as this is where it can look most obvious. As for the tail, if the hairs look a little messy, you know you’re doing it right.
