Felicity Huffman's daughter Sophia has 'two part-time jobs' and is reapplying to colleges

Felicity Huffman’s daughter Sophia has ‘two part-time jobs’ and is reapplying to colleges… weeks before the 56-year-old actress goes to prison

Their family is striving to get back to some form of normalcy after it was revealed earlier this year that their matriarch was involved in the college admissions scandal.

And Felicity Huffman’s daughter Sophia has been hard at work with ‘two part-time jobs’ as she struggles to assimilate the impact of her mother’s decision to enlist the help of a proctor to forge her SAT scores, according to People magazine.

In addition to steady work, the 19-year-old ‘found her own apartment’ and is working toward reapplying to colleges post Operation Varsity Blues, where her mother pleaded guilty to paying admissions consultant Rick Singer $15,000 for altering tests.

‘She still stays close to home, but it’s been a good transition for her,’ a source said. ‘She’s reapplying to colleges and Georgia will be applying to schools as well this year.’

Felicity was sentenced to 14 days in prison, a year of supervised release and a $30,000 fine after pleading guilty for her involvement in the scandal.

She will also have to serve 250 hours of community service as part of her plea, but making sure she gains back the respect from her family is a priority for the mother-of-two

‘There is much to be done, and some of the hurt and anger will take years to work through, but we are making progress,’ her husband William H. Macy wrote in a letter to the court.

The family — which includes daughter Georgia, 17 — is pulling out all the stops in attempts to reconcile as a unit.

‘They are talking a lot and spending lots of time together,’ a source said. ‘They’re going for walks, playing board games and having family dinners. They are a solid group and they are leaning on each other for support.’

An insider also revealed that they’re ‘fighting through’ the rough patches as best as they can, adding that ‘they know it will take some time.’

While sources reveal that Huffman is ‘worried about where she is going’ to prison, she is ‘also resigned to paying her dues, no matter what she has to face.’

‘The sentence Felicity received is not about a victory or a defeat,’ a source said. ‘She is not disappointed or relieved about the outcome.

‘She is contrite and humbled and accepts the outcome. She is resigned to the fact that she has to serve her sentence and pay her dues to society.’

Felicity was just one of 50 people involved in the scandal which included coaches, parents, exam proctors and admissions counselors.
