The Manchester United Supporters Trust are not behind the initiative.

But a spokesperson for the supporters group said: “While these are grass roots independent fan campaigns rather than MUST initiatives we all share the frustration that has brought us to this point.”

The Trust also said on their Twitter site: We want owners who have the same priorities as supporters.

“That’s what we have always had as our primary objective and clearly that requires current owners to sell so #GlazersOut is nothing new for us – but how that is achieved is key and there are different tactical approaches.”

SunSport reported this week how the club had axed two planned phone-in shows on MUTV to avoid anti-Glazer calls.

Monday night’s Paddy Crerand Show, in which the 1968 European Cup-winning legend takes calls from fans, was canned as has his scheduled programme next week.

The Glazer family took over in 2005 borrowing against the club’s assets and plunging it into debt.

It is estimated they have cost United around £1billion facilitating the debt with interest and fees, plus there have been dividends for family members.

And following United’s disappointing sixth-placed finish, supporters have turned once again on their American owners.
