Fear the Walking Dead season 5 spoilers: Rick Grimes EPIC battle crossover teased?

Lennie James, who plays Fear the Walking Dead’s Morgan Jones, has revealed the one character he thinks should join the cast in what would be explosive scenes.

At WonderCon, he was asked which character he would like to see in a crossover and he said The Walking Dead fan favourite Rick Grimes (played by Andrew Lincoln).

He also knows exactly how he would have him cross over in scenes that would delight fans of both AMC shows.

He revealed: “I’d quite like to see Rick and John Dorie have a kind of gunslinger, a High Noon moment.”

John (Garret Dillahunt) first appeared in season four of Fear the Walking Dead and became part of Morgan’s survivors group.

Meanwhile, Rick left the show midseason in season nine of The Walking Dead and fans have been clamouring for him to return in some form.

The Walking Dead showrunner Angela Kang has previously spoken on his return to Deadline: “Obviously, the idea is that Rick and Maggie and all these people are alive in our universe.

“That’s part of the thing for our characters who don’t have full closure on Rick. That is something that remains an open question and may play into the story going forward in certain ways.”

His storyline was left open by bosses and they expect him to return in some way in the future.

He left the show in a helicopter and was taken to a remote community and has not been heard of since.

Could his helicopter land in Fear the Walking Dead territory to provide the most exciting crossover yet?

One crossover already confirmed for season five is that of Dwight (Austin Amelio) who left The Walking Dead in season eight.

He was banished by Daryl Dixon (Norman Reedus) and was told to never return to Alexandria.

Morgan himself also knows a few things about crossovers after actor Lennie moved from The Walking Dead to Fear the Walking Dead in season four.

He has only been in Fear the Walking Dead for one season, but already his future could be in doubt.

He became an integral part of the AMC spin-off after crossing over from The Walking Dead in season eight, but for how long?

Speaking about his future on the show, Lennie told “I’ve got no idea really. It’s kind of early days yet and at the moment I’m not looking for the door, but anything can happen in the next half hour.”

He also teased a possible The Walking Dead return: “I’m good where I am now. And I’m enjoying interacting with the characters that Morgan gets to play with, and I’m enjoying exploring Morgan in a slightly different vibe at a slightly different pace.

“But I’d be lying if I said I didn’t miss the other show and I don’t keep tabs on the show itself, but also the people I know and love over there.”

Fans can dream about a Rick Grimes crossover and the tantalising scene between him and John Dorie.

Fear the Walking Dead returns to AMC on June 2 and AMC UK the following day.
