FaZe Clan Streamer Ewok Leaves Twitch for Mixer

Mentioned in this article

  • Microsoft’s Mixer streaming platform has signed an exclusive deal with streamer Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler.
  • The Fortnite streamer joined FaZe Clan this summer and competed in the Fortnite World Cup’s Pro-Am tournament.
  • Wheeler joins top streamers Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek in leaving Twitch for Mixer.

Soleil “Ewok” Wheeler, a 14-year-old Fortnite streamer who signed with FaZe Clan this summer during the Fortnite World Cup, has agreed to an exclusive streaming deal with Microsoft’s Mixer platform.

Wheeler teased the news last night with a short video, with a longer version posted today showing the deaf pro player painting a Mixer logo on a wall. The official Mixer Twitter feed now has a “Welcome Ewok” banner on top, and shared her video with a welcome tweet.

Up until now, Wheeler has streamed via rival platform Twitch. Wheeler’s age and disability make her an anomaly amongst high-profile streamers, and her rise to popularity has also come in part due to streaming alongside pro players such as Tyler “Ninja” Blevins and Benjamin “DrLupo” Lupo, along with her association with FaZe Clan.

Wheeler is the latest streamer to leave Twitch for an exclusivity deal elsewhere following the lead of Blevins and Michael “Shroud” Grzesiek in moving to Mixer, while Jack “CouRage” Dunlop recently signed with YouTube.
