CORONATION Street star Faye Brookes went out on the town with purple hair and a sparkly silver dress today in the wake of her split from singer Gareth Gates.
The 31-year-old actress wore what is likely to be a wig as she joined her soap co-stars at Manchester Pride, where they partied on the ITV float.
She didn’t hold back on the make-up either, with her face covered in sparkling gems and sporting pink make-up days after The Sun Online revealed she had split from Gareth, 35.
There was no sign she was in any way down-in-the-dumps following the break-up as she arrived with a pal and clutching a rainbow flag.
At one point, she even whipped out a plastic wand and blew bubbles onto the crowds below.
She was joined at Manchester Pride by her Corrie co-stars Charlie Di Melo, who plays Imran Habeeb, and Sally Metcalfe star Sally Dynevor.
Sporting colourful ITV t-shirts and rainbow fans, other stars including Daniel Brocklebank and Antony Cotton joined in the carnival atmosphere.
Faye and Gareth split secretly last month following a series of bitter rows, but neither party are keen to spend time dwelling on the break-up.
However, on Thursday Faye broke her silence over the split to deny she already had a new man.
She tweeted: “It’s been a really weird week…
“I’ve been throwing myself into the gym pretty much everyday, anyone who knows me knows how much I love training and keeping fit!
“It’s great for your physical and mental health. I’m a member of several gyms in Manchester including the fab Barry’s Bootcamp.
“So (yesterday) there was a pap outside the gym when I got there, taking pictures of me & getting very excited with his camera because I walked in with one of the trainers from the gym – who is a friend.”
