Far Cry 6 lets you have a pet attack crocodile, and 100 other things we spotted

Here’s Ian with 22 minutes of footage.

The delayed Far Cry 6 has re-remerged after a few months in the wilderness – and Ian has an extensive new deep dive video, below, delving into its vast world and new mechanics.

A lot of it feels like the Far Cry experience you’d expect from a game set in the Cuban-inspired Yara, with more urban environment than seen in past Far Cry games. The map overall looks huge and varied though, as Ian’s video shows.

Watch the full rundown of 101 things he spotted below, including a full tour of the region’s wildlife – and yes, a crocodile named Guapo who wears a shirt and can be called on to attack your enemies. (Of course, you can pet the crocodile.)

One new feature worth flagging that will aid your stealth – if you choose to go that route – is the ability to holster your weapon and wander around listening in to conversations without raising suspicion.

There are locations such as checkpoints and flak cannon outposts you’ll need to conquer, and the series’ traditional outposts to beat. Named as FND Bases, these outposts are set in places such as abandoned schools, TV stations and farms.

Far Cry 6 was officially announced in July 2020, and was originally intended to arrive in February. There’s no word today on a new release date – presumably that’ll come at the next Ubisoft Forward presentation, to be held during E3 week on Saturday, 12th June.

As previously revealed, you’ll play as guerrilla fighter Dani Rojas – who like Assassin’s Creed Valhalla’s Eivor can be played as either a woman or man. Breaking Bad and The Mandalorian’s Giancarlo Esposito stars as the game’s dictator antagonist Anton Castillo.
