Fantasy Premier League tips: Who should I captain in FPL GW9 – Kane, Vardy or Abraham?

With the latest international break now over, FPL managers are looking ahead to the weekend’s action.

Selecting a captain sometimes proves to be a bit of a headache as users look to maximise their points haul.

GW8 was a struggle for many as the likes of Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Mohamed Salah, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Harry Kane all failed to score.

Manchester City take on Crystal Palace in GW9 and Aguero and Sterling will be hoping to be back among the goals.

Manchester United host Liverpool this weekend and given their current form, the likes of Salah, Sadio Mane and Roberto Firmino will be licking their lips.

However, the Red Devils will be determined not to lose to their fierce rivals at home so expect them to be fired up for this one.

Aubameyang has seven goals this season for Arsenal and has proved a popular pick for many FPL managers.

The Gunners travel to Sheffield United on Monday so the Gabonese forward should certainly be in the discussion for captaincy.

However, while many of the usual suspects still remain top picks, there are some other candidates worth considering.

Who should you captain in FPL GW9?

Tammy Abraham (£7.7m)

The Chelsea striker is the joint-top scorer in the Premier League this season, along with Aguero.

He’ll be up against Newcastle this weekend and will surely be confident of adding to his tally.

Additionally, Abraham has already had three gameweeks where he has scored 13 or more points.

Jamie Vardy (£9.0m)

The Leicester man has scored four and made one assist in his last three home games.

Up next for Vardy is the visit of Burnley.

Harry Kane (£10.9m)

Tottenham may be struggling at the moment but that shouldn’t rule Kane out of running for captaincy.

He was in fine form over the international break, scoring twice and assisting three times, and will line up against Watford this weekend.
