IT’S Breast Cancer Awareness month – so I have been looking at great ways to help charity.
Breast cancer has a huge impact on women and men, so I will certainly be doing my bit for the cause.
But, if you think being charitable means less money in the kitty for everyday life, think again.
Here are my favourite ways to help:
Think pink: Asda’s Tickled Pink campaign means your supermarket shop can also help raise cash for Breast Cancer Care and Breast Cancer Now. Tickled Pink items include cans of pink Diet Coke, 57p with a 6p donation, a Tickled Pink 80-pack of PG Tips for £2, with a 20p donation, and a special edition Hellmann’s mayonnaise, £2, with a 20p donation. There are also cosy sweaters from £14 (£1.50 donation) and socks for £2.50 (50p donation) so you can snuggle up and help charity without spending a fortune.
Swap old clothes for vouchers: Take a bag of unwanted clothes to Oxfam, with at least one item of M&S-labelled clothing, and you will receive a £5 M&S voucher to use when you spend at least £35 in store. Or take a bag of old clothes to H&M and get a £5 voucher, valid on a £25 minimum spend.
Earn money while giving: Sites such as topcashback.co.uk have a charity section that lets you earn 10.5 per cent cashback when shopping with a range of charities including The Royal British Legion and Help for Heroes. You can also donate your cashback earnings to a charity of your choice. Topcashback members have donated more than £130,000 of their cashback earnings to date.
Donate up to £300 cashback a year: Giveasyoulive.com is a free and easy way to give to charity. Just sign up, then shop online at one of the site’s 4,300 retailers — including Tesco, Argos and River Island — and the site donates a percentage to charity each time. It emails you within a week to let you know how much you have raised for your chosen charity.
