Harry Potter universe stars Jude Law and Katherine Waterston have been sprinkling a bit of magic by volunteering for a charity set up to help those in need during the coronavirus crisis in the UK.
The star duo – who feature in Harry Potter spin-off film series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them – rolled up their sleeves to volunteer for non-profit organisation SpareHand and helped deliver food crates to those in need on Thursday.
BAFTA winner Jude, 47, and 40-year-old actress Katherine also helped raise awareness of the new charity – which matches volunteers to projects needing extra help in nearby neighbourhoods.
With arms full of products, the Hollywood stars posed for a snap as they delivered food packages to Magic Breakfast – which supplies nutritious breakfasts to children at risk of hunger.
Sharing the photo of the actors in action via Instagram, SpareHand wrote on Friday: “So great to have Jude Law and Katherine Waterston volunteering for SpareHand yesterday!”
Fans were thrilled to see the duo reunited off screen and using their time to help others.
One fan commented: “Heroes in the wizarding world and in the real world.”
Another fan wrote: “Wooooowwwzzaaaa. What a dream team.”
While a third commented: “You people do good work!”
Katherine – who plays Tina Goldstein in the Fantastic Beasts films – has been using her own Instagram account to highlight the work of SpareHand and to encourage people in the UK to get involved.
Sharing information about the organisation, Katherine wrote: “Want to volunteer? We are working with fantastic organisations across the UK. Sign up today to find opportunities near you.”
Meanwhile, SpareHand explain their volunteering programme: “We match volunteers to the tasks that food banks and community groups are organising during the Coronavirus crisis.
“Volunteers receive tasks through a dedicated app, based on their location, availability and skills.”
