Netflix has just dropped the trailer for its latest movie, The King.

And if you’re into epic historical adventures, and Timothee Chalamet speaking with a British accent, then you’re in for a treat.

The film is based on the Henry IV and Henry V plays by William Shakespeare, and is directed and produced by David Michod.

Alongside Timothee, Joel Edgerton, Robert Pattison, and Ben Mendelsohn also star in the upcoming Netflix original.

Plot-wise, the film concerns a young prince named Hal (Timothee), a prince who is heir to the English throne but has turned his back on royal life.

However, after his father, King Henry IV (Ben), dies, he is quickly crowned King Henry V and has to navigate his life through palace politics and the war that his late father left behind.

Along the way, he has to cope with the emotional hardships of his past life, including a friendship with the alcoholic knight John Falstaff (Joel).

And the trailer has a lot going on.

Oh, and Robert Pattison sports long hair in this film, as he plays the role of The Dauphin – the eighth of twelve children to King Charles VI of France.

Since Netflix released the trailer today fans have been going absolutely wild, taking to Twitter to share their reactions.

One clearly excited fan said: ‘DO YOU HEAR ME CRYING OVER ONE MINUTE AND FORTY SECONDS OF EXCELLENCE?’

While another added: ‘Holy f, the acting, the cast! I can’t wait to see this!’

Another shared: ‘I CLICKED ON IT BEFORE I WAS READY ANDJJDJFJF THIS LOOKS SO GOOD.’

There has also been plenty of praise for Timothee’s accent in the film.

‘THE NOISE THAT FLEW OUT OF MY MOUTH WHEN HE SAID “in what regard”. THE ACCENT!!!!!!’ one fan said.

‘That gorgeous British accent! I’m dead!!!!’ another added.

Yep, it’s official. The trailer has really sent fans wild.

While it’s not been confirmed when the film hits the streaming service, it is first set to premiere at the Venice Film Festival on 2 September.
