Fans convinced about Tyson Fury vs Anthony Joshua result after Andy Ruiz fight

Anthony Joshua is a world champion once again, but some fans still don’t think he would be able to defeat Tyson Fury .

The British heavyweight won a rematch with Andy Ruiz Jr on Saturday to reclaim the titles he lost to the Mexican-American in June.

Joshua was stopped by Ruiz in the seventh round of their first meeting six months ago but got his revenge in Saudi Arabia.

The 30-year-old, who weighed in 10lb lighter than he did during the summer, beat his rival by a unanimous points decision after a disciplined performance.

There were suggestions that the fight could be make-or-break for the former Olympic champion, but the recovery of his IBF, WBO and WBA belts has now raised hopes of a showdown with either Fury or Deontay Wilder .

The pair are set expected to contest for the WBC world title for the second time in February 2020 after their first encounter ended in thrilling draw in December 2018.

Although many were left impressed by Joshua’s performance, some fans still doubt that he would be victorious if he met either fighter – particularly Fury.

Retired rugby star Andy Goode was one of those who was left unconvinced by Joshua’s display and expressed his confidence that Fury would have no problem beating either him or Ruiz.

The former England and Leicester Tigers fly-half tweeted during the bout: “However this fight finishes Tyson Fury would box the head off both Anthony Joshua and Andy Ruiz.

He was not alone on social media in predicting that the Gypsy King would come out on top if the pair met in the ring.

One user said: “Anthony Joshua gets schooled by Tyson Fury – make that fight happen and he gets found out once and for all.”

Another added: “Poor performance overall by Anthony Joshua and poses more questions than answers. Not confident that he could beat Tyson Fury or Deontay Wilder.”
