Factoring business names longstanding partner as its new managing director

Property factoring business Hacking and Paterson Management Services has announced the appointment of managing director David Doran.

The new boss takes over from Neil Watt, who becomes chairman of the firm. Doran joined the firm in 2003, was appointed as a director in 2010 and is a partner in the business. He has over 20 years’ experience in the property industry, including 16 years in factoring as well as business management and implementation of modern technologies. Doran is actively involved with Scottish Government on Fire Safety regulations.

He said: “Having been heavily involved in steering the company through the introduction of industry legislation and adaptation to modern day Property Factoring, including various internal structural developments, I can relate to and identify the current needs of the industry, our people and most importantly our customers.

“I’m delighted to have this opportunity to build on the firm foundations of Hacking and Paterson Management Services and I look forward to shaping its future and striving to achieve excellence in all aspects of the service we deliver to our customers.

“The company would not be at the forefront of the industry today without our hard working and diligent staff. They are motivated and guided by a strong and committed board of directors, each with different and important skills, and I am looking forward to leading them in the years ahead.”

Retiring MD Watt added: “I am delighted that David has accepted the position of managing director. He has all the attributes to continue to take the company forward, and importantly has our customers’ needs to the forefront of his mind. We “celebrate” our centenary in 2022 and I look forward to seeing what changes lie ahead for David, his team and the industry.”
