Facebook is back up and running after users across Europe reported the could not log in to the social media site.
At the height of the blackout, almost 1,300 of Europe’s 385 million users were unable to access the website.
Others claimed they were having difficulties logging on.
Thousands of users are reporting issues logging on, with two-thirds of complaints citing a ‘total blackout’ and more than a fifth talking of login issues.
According to downdetector, a site that tracks live outages online according to reports online, the problems began around 2pm BST.

Although the issue is widespread across a host of countries in Europe and some parts of western Asia and northern Africa, many people seem to be unaffected.

Users took to Twitter to vent their displeasure as they experienced issues.
One French user tweeted a damning GIF of Julius Caeser from the blockbuster film Gladiator to vent their displaesure, with the thumb down of doom.
It accompanied a message tat read along the lines of, ‘Well, Facebook is broken. Goodbye.’
FilGoal, a popular Egyptian football magazine, posted on Twitter that they were experiencing issues getting online.
