Fabinho says the arrival of Kylian Mbappe at Liverpool would provide a ‘headache’ for Liverpool and manager Jurgen Klopp.

French forward Mbappe has long been linked with a move to Anfield and his former Monaco team-mate Fabinho insists he would improve any team in the world.

Mbappe, 21, burst onto the scene at Monaco and has scored a staggering 81 goals in 110 appearances for PSG since joining the Ligue 1 champions three years ago.

Discussing Mbappe’s possible move to Liverpool, Reds midfielder Fabinho told SPORTbible: ‘At this moment it would be a headache for Liverpool if we had him here because our attacking trio is very good.

‘But I know Mbappe’s quality, he’s already one of the best players in the world, so he would obviously improve any team.

‘Right now he plays for Paris Saint-Germain and we have to respect that.’

Like Mbappe, Fabinho also left Monaco in 2018, joining Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool in a deal worth £39million.

The Brazilian emerged as one of Liverpool’s most important players before suffering an injury earlier in the season, with his performances helping the Reds storm clear of their title rivals.

Klopp’s side are on course to win the Premier League, a season after lifting the Champions League, and this Liverpool team have been branded one of the best in English football history.

‘I might be too young to answer this question,’ Fabinho added. ‘But in the last few years we have definitely been one of the best teams.

‘You have to respect the numbers we’re achieving at the moment, even if you don’t want to talk about them.

‘Records and stats don’t make us the best, but if we carry on doing what we’re doing we will win trophies. Then we have to keep doing that season after season.’
