The Football Association is set to cut ties with BBC presenter Craig Mitch over historic comments he made against Liverpool , according to reports.
Mitch, one of the hosts of Match of the Day spin-off MOTDx, is understood to have an informal arrangement to present coverage of the England national team on Youtube.
He has been filmed interviewing players and hosting official coverage at both Wembley and St George’s Park for the team’s official channel in the past 12 months.
However, The Daily Telegraph reports that the FA are expected to avoid hiring the broadcaster after footage of him making derogatory slurs about Liverpool was shared on social media in November.

According to the publication, Mitch is unlikely to be used for the upcoming friendlies against Italy and Denmark, despite the governing body’s claims that it is yet to make a decision on its presenters for the two matches.
Although he quickly apologised for the clip , which was filmed several years before he started working for the FA, it is claimed that the body does not want to risk any further attacks on its credibility following the recent controversy over bookmakers screening FA Cup matches on a bet-to-watch basis.
In the video, which appeared on the Youtube channel Filthy Fellas, the presenter described the city as a “s***hole” and stated that people who live there “don’t know what a job is”.

Mitch apologised immediately after the footage resurfaced in November, explaining that the clip was “five years” old and did not reflect his true views.
He tweeted at the time: “I apologise for the offence these comments could cause and just know these are not my actual view about a place I have a lot of respect for.
“Sometimes as football fans, we take banter too far. Back then, I did and I apologise for that.”
Meanwhile, Mitch is understood to be concentrating on his own self-produced social media content once again.
