Manchester United’s visit to Prenton Park ticks almost every “traditional FA Cup tie” box: worn pitch, lower-division strugglers up for a scrap and with a scalp under their belt, out-of-form big club looking vulnerable, sell-out crowd. This feels like a tie that matters. Ole Gunnar Solskjær’s United may have other fish to fry but they cannot afford to slip up here, for morale’s sake alone.
