Express.co.uk poll: Would YOU vote for Jeremy Corbyn as Prime Minister? – VOTE HERE

Although Boris Johnson has only just become Prime Minister, there is vast speculation that a shock general election could see Mr Corbyn in charge. Now there are 77 days to go until the October 31 deadline, Mr Corbyn is desperately demanding parties help him to oust Mr Johnson with a vote of no confidence. Ladbrokes betting has said that Mr Corbyn is the favourite to succeed Boris Johnson as Prime Minister.

The bookies say that Mr Johnson’s chances of being replaced this year are just 7/2, and 3/1 says it’s Corbyn who is next in Downing Street.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes: “We’re anticipating a hectic few months in the world of political betting and with a General Election looking more likely than ever, the bookies reckon Corbyn has every chance of soon succeeding Johnson.”

Mr Corbyn has written to his opposition leaders with a plot of how to ensure there is not a no deal Brexit.

He has suggested he becomes a caretaker prime minister until a general election and said there would be a “strict time limit”.

He claimed that if he were to be in power, he would delays the UK’s departure from the EU, call a snap general election and campaign for another vote with the option to remain in the bloc.

In his letter, Mr Corbyn wrote: “This government has no mandate for no-deal, and the 2016 EU referendum provided no mandate for no-deal.

“Following a successful vote of no confidence in the government, I would then, as Leader of the Opposition, seek the confidence of the House for a strictly time-limited temporary government with the aim of calling a general election, and securing the necessary extension of Article 50 to do so.”
