Former AFL star turned radio host Brendan Fevola is resting up in hospital, after having an operation on his arm. 

The 41-year-old Carlton and Brisbane Lions star shared a series of pictures with fans on Instagram on Friday. 

In one image, Brendan poses up in his hospital bed after surgery.

‘Operation complete. Time to tuck into some great food, absolutely starving,’ Brendan captioned his post. 

In the image, the newly-blond star can be seen with a cast on his arm.

Earlier this week, before going into hospital, Brendan showed off an arm injury with large bruises near his wrist. 

‘Who said playing footy at 41 was fun,’ he wrote. 

He added: ‘Old body is taking a hammering.’

Brendan recently revealed on his radio show that he’d lost an impressive 10kg in three weeks ahead of his boxing debut at the Footy Legends Fight Night later this year.

‘I’ve lost like 10kg in three weeks and I feel good man,’ he said on Fifi, Fev and Nick.

‘I’m up and about!’

In May, he said he plans to emulate Rocky by ‘full-on training’.

Brendan, who does not yet know who his opponent will be, admitted he has no boxing experience but is nonetheless keen to give it a go.

‘I can’t fight so this is going to be awesome fun. I’ve got ages to prepare,’ he said.
