Everything you need to know about the Concours of Elegance

Aiming to showcase some of the ‘most astonishing cars ever produced’, the annual Concours of Elegance rumbles into the grounds of Hampton Court Palace next month.

From September 6-8, around 600 valuable cars will be on display to give show-goers a glittering automotive treat.

Included in this year’s line-up will be an impeccable, highly original Ballot 3/8 LC, ‘lost’ for many years in England, and only recently rediscovered – researchers subsequently found that this was the car that won the very first Italian Grand Prix, in 1921.

Also on show will be the first ever Jaguar D-Type built, the 15th Jaguar E-Type built, and a legendary McLaren F1, parked next to a unique McLaren P1 GTR ‘Beco’ inspired by racing driver Ayrton Senna.

A special feature this year will gather together a number of Ferrari 166 models – the only car ever to have won the Le Mans 24 Hours, the Mille Miglia and the Spa 24 Hours Races.

In the year that legendary design house Zagato celebrates its centenary, visitors to the Concours of Elegance will also be able to browse one example of each of its masterpieces created in partnership with Aston Martin, a total of 17.

During Bentley’s Centenary Year, Concours of Elegance attendees will have the chance to see the most significant Bentleys ever produced, including the first to race at Le Mans – a 3-Litre model – the first to ever win back-to-back at Le Mans and the famous Speed Six ‘Blue Train’ which raced Le Train Bleu across France.

These and other cars are aimed at creating a unique atmosphere where show-goers can also enjoy three-course luxury picnics, an on-site fine-dining restaurant and a champagne bar. Tickets to the Concours of Elegance also provide access to Hampton Court Palace itself.
