Everything Marvel and Disney Showed Off at Brazil's CCXP19


The Walt Disney Studios and cast and filmmakers representing titles from Lucasfilm, Marvel Studios, Twentieth Century Fox, Blue Sky Studios, Pixar and Walt Disney Animation Studios, were out in full force in São Paulo earlier today as part of Brazil CCXP19, where they offered convention attendees an exciting look at the upcoming film slate. It was the biggest presence at the convention – the largest comic con in the world – for the studio ever.

Marvel: The Eternals, Falcon and the Winter Solider & WandaVision

Marvel at CCXP19

Kevin Feige, president of Marvel Studios, received a rapturous welcome from Brazil CCXP19 attendees, fulfilling a promise he made years ago to come to São Paulo. Coming off an incredibly strong year with both global critical acclaim and global box-office success for Avengers: Endgame and the massive hit Captain Marvel, Feige worked up fans with details and exclusive images from Falcon and the Winter Solider and the first image from WandaVision, which premiere in 2020 and 2021 respectively, streaming only on Disney+. He then thrilled fans with a first look at next year’s The Eternals. Directed by Chloé Zhao, The Eternals opens in U.S. theaters November 6, 2020. Feige ended the panel showcasing new footage from Black Widow, and distributing an exclusive Brazil CCXP19 Black Widow poster. The Cate Shortland-directed first film in Phase Four of the Marvel Cinematic Universe hits U.S. theaters May 1, 2020.

Director/producer/writer J.J. Abrams, Daisy Ridley, Oscar Isaac and John Boyega stormed the stage of the Cinemark Auditorium to showcase Lucasfilm’s Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, the eagerly-anticipated, riveting conclusion of the seminal Skywalker saga, and shared an exclusive clip plus a special look at the friendships shared by Star Wars cast members. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker opens in U.S. theaters December 20, 2019.

Free Guy at CCXP19

Director/producer Shawn Levy from Twentieth Century Fox’s Free Guy welcomed stars Ryan Reynolds and Joe Keery on stage for the global debut of the Free Guy trailer, which received thunderous applause. The convention attendees were the first international audience to see the trailer for the epic adventure-comedy, which opens in U.S. theaters July 3, 2020. In the film, which also stars Jodie Comer, Lil Rel Howery, Utkarsh Ambudkar and Taika Waititi, a bank teller who discovers he is actually a background player in an open-world video game, decides to become the hero of his own story…one he rewrites himself. Now in a world where there are no limits, he is determined to be the guy who saves his world his way…before it is too late. Director Dan Scanlon from Disney and Pixar’s Onward thrilled the audience with footage from the animated film set in a suburban fantasy world about two teenage elf brothers who embark on an extraordinary quest to spend one more magical day with their late father. Onward opens in U.S. theaters March 6, 2020.

Directors Troy Quane and Nick Bruno from Blue Sky Studios’ animated spy comedy adventure Spies in Disguise were welcomed onstage by Aline Diniz, to discuss the film set in the slick, high-octane, globe-trotting world of international espionage, sharing exclusive footage from the film. Spies in Disguise” opens in U.S. theaters December 25, 2019.

Frozen 2 at CCXP19

Oscar®-winning filmmakers, director Chris Buck and producer Peter Del Vecho, delighted fans following the Brazilian premiere of Walt Disney Animation Studios’ Frozen 2 in the Cinemark Auditorium. The film welcomes Elsa, Anna, Kristoff, Olaf and Sven back to the big screen in a dangerous but remarkable journey. “Frozen 2” opened in U.S. theaters November 22, 2019.
