Everyone's going to be wearing Topshop's grungy new collection this Autumn

Topshop has a knack for serving up a killer capsule collection that literally everyone wants in their wardrobe – just cast your mind back to Kate Moss and Beyoncé’s killer collabs – and the high street store’s latest iteration is no different.

Topshop’s IDOL Pre-Fall 2019 collection, which is inspired by the rock and roll ‘80s but with a modern touch, just landed in stores and everyone’s adding it to their wish-lists.

The brainchild of Topshop’s Design Director, Anthony Cuthbertson, the collection is inspired by some of the most stylish music icons in history, including Debbie Harry, Patti Smith and Joan Jett.

“The collection fuses clashing prints, updated cuts and embellishment to create signature Topshop looks,” Anthony told GLAMOUR of the new drop.

Available now, IDOL is the perfect transitional wardrobe for those awkward ‘will it rain or be a scorcher’ days (so basically the entirety of August, then). “IDOL bridges the gap between summer and winter, offering transitional pieces that will prepare our customers for the cooler weather,” Anthony explained.

What we love most about the collection is how it’s been designed to empower women of all ages, from all walks of life.

“Classic silhouettes mixed with impactful prints and rich hues promise that whoever incorporates the pieces into their look, does so with confidence,” adds Anthony.

So if you’re in the market to snap up one key piece from the new drop, which does Anthony think will be the hero sell-out?

“The leather boiler suit is a favourite here at HQ,” he said. “However, patterned midi dresses have been a big hit this season so I imagine the tattoo print shirt dress will become the hero piece.”

The best news? It’s actually super affordable, with dresses costing around £40 and totes at £35.

These are the pieces we’ll be snapping up pronto. Race you to the till?
