Despite being more than 600-years-old, the recreated face of a long-dead Scottish man has found an unlikely look-alike at the heart of the British government.

Various observers have suggested ‘Skeleton (SK) 125’ bears an uncanny resemblance to that of Prime Minister Boris Johnson’s key adviser Dominic Cummings.

Unflattering comparisons poured in on social media, with one Twitter user, Christopher Farrelly, suggesting that the medieval man, found under an art gallery in Aberdeen, looked like Mr Cummings ‘pressed against a patio window’.

Another, Tim Reid, joked: ‘Turns out the Prime Minister’s evil genius is actually a medieval genius’.

Downing Street were asked by Metro.co.uk if Mr Cummings would like to comment, but did not immediately respond, suggesting he might be ‘busy with other things’.

Facial reconstruction technology was used to produce an image of the balding man, who was re-imagined with a thick set face, greying hair and oddly small, centralised facial features.

AOC Archaeology Group concluded he was at least 46 years old, between 5ft 2in and 5ft 5in tall, and suffered from extensive dental and joint disease.

But Twitter users were unconvinced by the explanation, suggesting that it was in fact Mr Cummings, seen as the mastermind behind the Vote Leave campaign and a crucial strategist for Mr Johnson.

Others likened SK 125 to former England Captain Wayne Rooney, SNP Westminster leader Ian Blackford and even Mr Cummings’ Dad.
