Every Key Detail Just Revealed About Bond 25 – Including Its Oscar-Winning Villain

In an announcement from Golden Eye, Jamaica, producer Barbara Broccoli, writer Michael G Wilson, and director Cary Joji Fukunaga today revealed fresh details about James Bond’s 25th outing in her Majesty’s Service. The location obviously has special meaning for Bond fans as it is the home of Ian Fleming’s villa, where he wrote every one of the 007 novels. It also served as the location for both Dr. No (1962), the original Bond film, and Live And Let Die, Roger Moore’s first outing in the role (1973).

While the title for the film has yet to be confirmed, it will hit cinemas early in 2020. Daniel Craig will return for what will likely be his last turn as 007, supported by Ralph Fiennes as M, Lea Seydoux as Madeleine Swann, Ben Whishaw as Q, and Naomi Harris as Moneypenny. Meanwhile, Rami Malik will play the film’s arch villain. “I promise you all I will be making sure Mr Bond does not get an easy ride of this,” he joked in a video message from New York. Jeffrey Wright will also return as Felix Leiter for the first time since Quantum of Solace (2008), with newcomers Ana De Armas and Dali Benssalah among the female cast members.

Filming for Bond 25 has already taken place in Norway and is about to begin in Jamaica. It will then continue at locations including Pinewood Studios and a village in the Italian countryside. While little about the plot is currently known, the team did share that Bond is “enjoying himself in Jamaica” when the film begins rather than in active service. With Phoebe Waller-Bridge lending her magic touch to the script, this might just be the best Bond outing yet.
