Everton vs Manchester City prediction: How will Premier League clash play out?

Manchester City travel to Goodison Park to take on Everton knowing they can ill afford to drop points after Liverpool extended their lead at the top of the table to eight points.

Pep Guardiola rested a number of key players for his side’s Carabao Cup victory over Preston as they look to continue the fine vein of form that’s seen them score 14 goals in their last three games, including an 8-0 rout of Watford in their last league outing.

Everton enter the game under a veil of pressure after back-to-back defeats – to Bournemouth and Sheffield United – have seen Marco Silva’s side take just seven points from their first six games of the season.

Silva admitted his side are suffering but insisted he was not concerned yet by their league form, however, hampered by injuries to new signings Andre Gomes and Jean-Philippe Gbamin, the Toffees are in desperate need of an uplifting result.

Here is everything you need to know about the game:

Prediction

With Liverpool grinding out a win to take their lead – temporarily – to eight points at the top of the table, City will know they cannot afford to slip up and will take three points at Goodison Park.

However, with Everton themselves attempting to fight their way out of the corner, Silva’s side will not roll over easy and could provide a stern resistance that lasts well into the second-half.

Everton 0-2 Manchester City
