Everton slap in two players-plus-cash transfer offer for Crystal Palace star Wilfried Zaha

Everton have made a second bid for Crystal Palace forward Wilfried Zaha, according to Sky Sports.

The Toffees have offered Palace £55m for the Ivory Coast international, as well as Cenk Tosun and James McCarthy.

Everton made their first bid for Zaha on Sunday (July 28); a £55m offer.

But, it’s believed that Palace are demanding at least £80m if they are to sell Zaha.

Zaha is keen on a move away from Selhurst Park this summer, he revealed at the end of last season.

He said that he wanted to play European football next season.

Arsenal looked like the most likely to sign Zaha after they made an initial approach for the forward.

But the Gunners’ £40m bid was quickly rejected by the Palace hierarchy and they have since agreed a deal for Lille’s Nicolas Pepe.

Everton won’t be playing in the Europa League next season after finishing eighth in the Premier League.

Toffees boss Marco Silva knows that the club are in desperate need of a prolific attacker, having struggled to find an adequate replacement for Romelu Lukaku since he left for Manchester United in 2017.

Tosun was signed for £23m from Besiktas last year, in a bid to become Everton’s new number nine.

But, the Turkey international has failed to impress at Goodison Park, and Silva is looking to offload him this summer.

Meanwhile, McCarthy has struggled for Premier League appearances after a series of injuries.

He has featured just five times for Everton in the league over the past two seasons, having been ruled out for 11 months last year after breaking his leg in two places.

McCarthy was fit to play from the middle of January last season, but only made the matchday squad in six of the Toffees’ remaining Premier League matches.

He made just a single 14-minute cameo against Manchester United in April during the 2018/2019 campaign.
