EVERTON owned up to a £16million mistake after Marco Silva was finally sacked.
But majority owner Farhad Moshiri does not yet know who Silva’s successor will be.

And hot favourite David Moyes is in limbo because Moshiri cannot decide whether to bring the Scot back to Goodison Park.
SunSport understands informal talks between the Toffees and Moyes — in charge for 11 years until 2013 — have already taken place.
Chairman Bill Kenwright has been pushing for week so see the return of the man who deemed Everton “The People’s Club”.
But one of those people not yet ready to give Moyes the go-ahead is Moshiri after having his fingers badly burned by Silva’s appointment.
Not only did the 42-year-old Portuguese cost £4m in compensation to former club Watford for what was judged an initial illegal approach.
But Silva still had 18 months of his three-year contract to run, worth £12m over that term, meaning the total cost of hiring him runs to a staggering £16m.
And last night Moshiri called an end to Silva’s 18-month reign — just 24 hours after the disastrous 5-2 derby defeat to bitter Mersey rivals Liverpool.
Everton currently sit third-bottom and in the Premier League relegation zone after Moshiri had also invested £226m in new signings while Silva was in charge.
Toffees first-team coach Duncan Ferguson will be in charge for Chelsea’s visit tomorrow.
But what has not been confirmed is that Moyes, who sources suggest was convinced he had his old job back again, will ultimately take control.
Other candidates, including former Liverpool manager Rafa Benitez, Bournemouth’s Eddie Howe, Pep Guardiola’s No2 at Manchester City Mikel Arteta and out of work Mark Hughes had all been touted.

Moshiri merely removed Silva and told the rest of the Goodison hierarchy he wants more time to decide on who would become the fifth manager since he took over in 2016.
He has spent a total of £450m on new players trying to make his dream come true of turning his club into Champions League contenders.
But just like Moyes, he is unsure of what will happen next.
