Sweden’s Eurovision contender Cornelia Jakobs has revealed she’d love to make more music with the UK’s Sam Ryder, after they recently shared a stunning duet of her entry, Hold Me Closer

Cornelia ended up finishing fourth on the leaderboard, behind Ukraine, the UK and Spain, which was the nation’s best result since Måns Zelmerlöw won in 2015.

The Swedish star was relatively unknown a few months ago and has been propelled to stardom after her participation in the song contest, watched by over 100,000,000 people

The Hold Me Closer singer has now just started her summer tour and will be coming to perform in the UK later this year.

Luckily, she managed to find a moment to speak to Metro.co.uk about her dream duets, and whether she’d ever want to compete in Eurovision again.

Turns out, she’d love to collaborate more with Space Man singer Sam, who won the hearts of the nation with his fantastic effort earlier this month.

She said: ’Yeah, we talked about that. Sam is such a sweetheart It was super fun to make that little duet. It was quite spontaneous in the hotel lobby.

‘But we said how if he’s coming to Sweden, we should either have a show together or we’ll write something more. We definitely spoke about that.’

Cornelia added: ‘It would be so much fun.’

In terms of what she thinks of the UK’s newest national treasure, she dubbed him ‘such a professional’ and ‘very charismatic’.

Cornelia went on: ‘You can really tell that he enjoys being on a stage and the song is super nice. It’s almost an Elton John vibe which is totally my alley… and like a little bit of Oasis in the Middle eight.

‘I really, really liked it. I’ve had stuck in my head for many weeks now!’

She told us she’d also love to collaborate with Måneskin, whose glam rock act blew the whole of Europe away in 2021.

Cornelia wouldn’t rule out participating in the song contest again, with no limit on the number of times someone is able to represent their country.

‘I told my mom I was missing it so much and I want to do it again. And she was like, “Oh, God, give us a break Cornelia we need to breathe”.

‘They were more nervous than me!’

But she’s not sure she’d want to go through the Swedish selection process, Melodifestivalen, again.

‘Yeah, I would have to go through the Melodifestivalen and win again, which doesn’t really happen.

‘If there was a ticket to go straight there, I would definitely just take it and go for it again. I can’t wait to see all the fans from Eurovision in the crowd on tour.

‘We’ll see. I can tell you that I miss Eurovision already. With that said, we’ll see what the future holds,’ she teased.
