Arsenal have been drawn against Eintracht Frankfurt in the Europa League group stages while Manchester United are set to face FC Astana
The Bundesliga club reached the semi-final stage of the competition last season where they were beaten on a penalty shootout by eventual winners Chelsea, but their squad has been severely weakened following the summer sales of Luka Jovic to Real Madrid and Sebastian Haller to West Ham.
Unai Emery’s side were battered by Chelsea in the final in Baku back in May and will be hoping to go one better and gain re-entry into the Champions League after a three-season absence.
Arsenal’s section will also include Standard Liege, who the Gunners last faced en route to European Cup Winners’ Cup glory in 1993, and Portuguese side Vitoria.
United, meanwhile, who won the Europa League in 2017 during Jose Mourinho’s first season in charge, will also face Partizan Belgrade and Dutch outfit AZ Alkmaar.
After knocking out Torino in a two-legged play-off, Wolves have been drawn against Besiktas, Braga and Slovan Bratislava, while Scottish champions Celtic will face Lazio, Rennes and Cluj.
Glasgow rivals Rangers, who beat Legia Warsaw in their play-off thanks to Alfredo Morelos’s late winner at Ibrox, will meet Porto, Feyernoord and Young Boys.
