Esther Rantzen breaks silence with apology after sweary Chris Evans chat 'I got mixed up'

Chris went on to urge her not to repeat the swear word for a third time, quipping: “Yeah it’s okay, don’t go for the hat-trick!

“But it’s great to have you back with us, I love it, in her 80s she’s getting so rebellious!”

The radio host then joked with his listeners: “When I was a little boy watching That’s Life! with my mum and dad, if you’d have said to me the queen of the BBC, Dame Esther Rantzen, will come on your radio show one day, because you’re going to have one.

“And she will have a really intimate, friendly, conversation with you, and then just start swearing, I wouldn’t have believed you! Anyway, I must apologise once again.”
