Estee Lalonde shares the exact nighttime routine that she credits for that clear, glowy skin

We love hearing about other people’s nighttime routines. Here, author, Instagrammer and podcast host Estee Lalonde shares her most important skincare rules and every single thing she does right before bedtime.

The nighttime skincare routine

After a long day, out and about to and from meetings in the big smoke my face always feels like it’s layered with dirt. The feeling of taking your makeup off is the best. Here is a simple lightweight layering nighttime skincare routine to prep your skin for the morning ahead.

Cleanse your skin

Cleansing your skin is the most important thing to do every night. It removes dirt and impurities accumulated throughout the day. I love to double cleanse so I typically use something like the Tatcha Cleansing Oil to break down the bulk of my makeup. I apply this to dry skin and then add a bit of water onto my fingertips and massage for a few minutes. After rinsing, I’ve been using the Pore perfecting cleansing gel from Dr Dennis Gross which is a gel cleanser formulated with alpha-beta acids to exfoliate dead skin cells which reduces the appearance of pores.

Balance the PH of your skin

A toner after cleansing is a step that often people miss. The face vinegar by Galinée is a great toner to balance out the PH of the complexion, it also helps the pores look smaller and brighter.

Moisture is key

To prep the skin for serums and moisturiser I use an essence water. I love the Oskia floral water which is a delicate and calming toner combined with pure organic rose hydrolat and vitamin b5 which helps to soothe and calm the skin. This really helps prepare the skin for the rest of the products you apply on top. Who can say no to extra hydration?

Remember the eyes

The eye area is the most delicate and one of the areas that we need to give a little TLC. The Drunk Elephant C-Tango Multivitamin eye cream is rich in formula with a blend of peptides, ceramics, cucumber extract and plant oils. This blend helps to replenish this delicate area.

Slather on the serum

A serum works to penetrate deeper into the skin to promote cell turnover and boost collagen. I love to use theSarah Chapman Skinesis Intense Hydrating Booster which helps to protect and rehydrate the skin.

Moisturise

A night cream smooths and firms the skin. The Caudalie Resveratrol Night Cream is a plumping night cream that diminishes the signs of ageing which promotes firm skin and radiance. This is a new product to me but has already become such a staple in my routine because it makes me wake up with super juicy and plump skin!

There’s nothing wrong with applying more moisture to your skin, the La Mer renewal oil helps to blur out emerging lines and wrinkles and improves collagen production. I always apply an oil at night time!

Lip care

Finally, a lip treatment. A lip balm from By Terry is super soothing and nourishes the lips overnight to give them complete moisture. You can also use it on your cuticles too! One of my holy grail skincare products.
