Erno Laszlo's Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask will leave you absolutely glowing

Erno Laszlo’s Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask is so decadent looking, it is easy to assume that it does nothing. The dawn-coloured package sleeve gleams in direct sunlight, in the manner of a jewel. Many ascetic religions would find such a display of opulence sinful, and they would condemn the ritual of tearing open and discarding the gorgeous plastic fabric. (I do think the Catholics would love it.)

In addition to being almost preposterously glamorous, undereye patches are also somewhat useful: They provide little twin greenhouse environments for helpful ingredients to plant themselves onto the famine-stricken terrain of your face. The Erno Laszlo patches contain allantoin, a moisturising agent that offers lots of hydration without irritation. Then there is Chondrus crispus (Carrageenan) extract, which, fun fact, comes from Irish moss, a type of seaweed used in antiquity to stuff mattresses, fight pneumonia, and bring good fortune to travellers. Today, Erno Laszlo uses it to fight collagen degradation, just as St. Patrick intended.

The two curved patches are made of translucent hydrogel — they give the appearance of severely moisturised cheeks but are otherwise discreet, and perfectly acceptable for the corporate workplace or Catholic mass, or any other situation that requires long periods of stillness. On my face, they feel very wet and lukewarm, which I like. There is nothing like the sensation of wetness to convince me that my skin is being properly moisturised.

For the purposes of this review, I was given one set to try. If I had another set, I would give them to the Theotokos of Tikhvin, whose under eyes, no offense, seem to be in desperate need of hydration. If given a third set, I would keep them for myself, but only for special occasions, like a forthcoming journey or a painful bout of 15th-century pneumonia. At £32 for six sets, they are a precious commodity.

Erno Lazlo Multi-Task Eye Serum Mask is available at FeelUnique for just £32.
