Eric Choupo-Moting produces shocking miss during PSG’s clash with Strasbourg

Eric Choupo-Moting produced one of the worst misses of all time during Paris Saint-Germain’s clash with Strasbourg on Sunday evening.

PSG had the chance to wrap up the Ligue 1 title with a victory and got off to an excellent start as Choupo-Moting opened the scoring in the 13th minute.

Strasbourg pulled level through Nuno da Costa but Choupo-Moting squandered a golden chance shortly after to restore PSG’s advantage.

Christopher Nkunku chipped the ball over Strasbourg goalkeeper Matz Sels but from less than one yard out Choupo-Moting stopped the ball on the line instead of poking it into the net.

And it got even worse for PSG before half-time as Anthony Goncalves scored a brilliant effort to put Strasbourg ahead.

Thomas Tuchel was also criticised before the match for his decision to start Kylian Mbappe on the bench.

The 20-year-old is currently the top scorer in Ligue 1 with 27 goals this season – and it’s probably safe to assume he would’ve hit the target from less than a yard out.

But PSG were able to salvage a draw as Thilo Kehrer finally found a way past the excellent Sels with eight minutes remaining.
