Eric Cantona compares Man Utd to an old man having sex


Eric Cantona has compared his beloved Manchester United to an old man having sex.

Ole Gunnar Solskjaer’s side are down in eighth place in the Premier League – 24 points behind leaders Liverpool .

French legend Cantona told app OTRO: “ Manchester United has a special place in my heart. But watching United play now is a bit like an old man who is trying to make love.

“You are trying with all your might but at the end of the day, everyone’s a little disappointed.”

But Cantona, 53, added: “When I say things about making love like an old man, sorry I am not talking about myself, it was only a metaphor.”

And he said: “They [United] will soon return because they are the biggest club in the world.”

United take on Newcastle on Boxing Day as they look to reel in fourth-placed Chelsea , who are seven points ahead of them in the table.

The Red Devils have come unstuck against some of the teams below them in the table several times already this season and Jesse Lingard admits they have been complacent.

“It’s strange, maybe it’s a mindset thing. Maybe it’s our mentality going into the match thinking we’ve already won the game,” Lingard said in an interview with The Daily Mail .

“If we keep the consistency and mentality we had against City and Tottenham , I don’t see why we can’t win every game. It seems like our mentality changes… When we start with energy and on the front foot, we’ll cause team problems all day long,” the England international added.

“To keep that consistency throughout the rest of the season when we come against the mid-table teams, we need to have the same mentality that we did going into the City and Tottenham game.”
