And that is before the players tap their following on social media and cash in with lifestyle and clothing brands.
Southgate, 49, runs MAS Investment Holdings Ltd with his wife Alison.
And it is a tactic that is so successful the rest of the team have adopted it.

Man City’s Sterling, 25, has just splashed out more than £1million on a street of houses for rent.
He and fiancée Paige Milian own six new two-bedroom homes in Stockport, and are asking £750 a month.
Liverpool ’s Henderson, 29, paid £4million for a block called Canute Court in leafy Knutsford, Cheshire.
Spurs’ Alli, 23, founded Future Homes Investments Ltd in 2016 and has bought four pads close to his home town of Milton Keynes, Beds.

Chelsea star Mason Mount is only 21 but started his property firm Stone Elite Property Ltd three years ago.

England skipper Harry Kane, 26, has added £3 million in property investments.
Meanwhile Man Utd’s Marcus Rashford, 22, also has a property development company and plans to launch his own clothing brand.
Property expert Martin Hill, who runs Hills Residential in Greater Manchester, said; “Long term property is a very wise investment.
They can’t play for ever and this will help set them up for the future. They’ll get a good rental return.”
