Enable misses York Ebor meeting to head to Kempton

Enable’s Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe warm-up looks set to be at Kempton after connections opted to miss the Ebor meeting at York.

The dual Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe winner could have run in either the Yorkshire Oaks or the Juddmonte International on the Knavesmire, but she will have a longer break between races.

Next month’s Group 3 September Stakes is on the agenda, before a return trip to France.

In a statement, owner Khalid Abdullah’s racing manager Teddy Grimthorpe said: “Prince Khalid has decided that Enable’s next start will be the September Stakes Group Three at Kempton on September 5.

“As has been stated, the Prix de l’Arc de Triomphe Group One remains her main objective.”

If Enable had raced next week, she could have attempted a third win in the Yorkshire Oaks, against impressive Epsom Classic heroine Love.

The pair may meet at Longchamp on October 4 instead and are the 3/1 joint favourites for the Arc with BetVictor.

Enable was defeated by Waldgeist in the race last year – and will aim to make history with another victory in the autumn for Frankie Dettori and John Gosden.

The six-year-old is a three-time King George VI And Queen Elizabeth Stakes winner and has 11 successes at the top level on her CV.
