Empire actress Amanda Detmer has been arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a traffic collision.

According to a statement from the Chico Police Department, the incident occurred on Sunday 8 December 2019.

At 5:13pm they responded to a report of a vehicle collision into a utility pole at an intersection in Chico.

The statement read: ‘Upon arrival, officers learned the vehicle had left the scene and an inebriated Detmer was eventually discovered driving her vehicle, which showed signs of “heavy front end damage”, and was then arrested.

‘Officers arrived and learned that the vehicle had left the scene and was last seen driving eastbound on East 9th Street.

‘An area check was conducted and a vehicle was located driving eastbound on East 9th Street that had heavy front end damage.

‘During the course of the investigation, police learned the driver was responsible for the collision into the utility pole.’

The driver was identified as Amanda Detmer.

At the conclusion of the investigation, Detmer was placed under arrest for driving under the influence of alcohol and leaving the scene of a traffic collision.

Detmer plays Tracy Kingsley on Fox’s hit music-themed show, which is currently in its sixth season.

Her character featured on the show from 2018-2019 and she appeared as a guest star on a total of 12 episodes of the show.

Empire, of course, stars the likes of Taraji P. Henson as Loretha and Terrence Howard as Lucious.

Detmer, who is 48 years old, previously had a role in the first Final Destination film, released in the year 2000.

However, her character did not appear in the subsequent four films in the franchise (which made over $7 million at the box office) because her character was killed off in the first movie.
