Emmerdale ‘s Maya Stepney (Louisa Clein) is set to turn Jacob Gallagher (Joe Warren-Plant) and David Metcalfe’s (Matthew Wolfenden) world upside down as she leaves her baby with them.
Emmerdale spoilers have revealed that amidst the Christmas Day celebrations, Jacob will open the front door and discover a baby on the doorstep.
After telling David, the pair both have a look at the package, and find a note attached from Maya.
They initially believe it to be a prank, as they refuse to believe it’s actually from Maya.
However, fans know that Maya was heavily pregnant as she was released from prison last month, although she never made a return to the Dales to tell Jacob and David the news.
David tells Jacob to keep quiet about their discovery until they have found out more, but the pair panic as both of them realise that they could be about to become fathers.
They decide to conduct their own paternity test to confirm the baby’s father, as Jacob and David nervously await the DNA results.
Who is the father?
Viewers think they have worked out who the father is, as they have been taking to social media to share their theories.
One posted: “I bet Jacob is the dad but David will raise as the father so Jacob can move on.”
Another agreed: “Let me guess… they find out it is Jacob’s baby but David says it is his so that Jacob can move on from Maya?”
A third chipped in: “I think it is Jacob, who is the father of Maya’s child.”

Could David be set to raise the baby as his own to help his son?
Looks like fans won’t have long to wait before they find out the truth.
