Emmerdale star Lucy Pargeter says her children are more important than having an ‘unrealistic’ post baby body that some celebrities portray

Emmerdale actress Lucy Pargeter admitted her children are more important than  having a perfect post baby body that celebrities are pressured to have. 

The 42-year-old, who had twin girls through IVF in 2017, revealed that her body looks different after having children but she is tired of stars portraying an unrealistic image of being a mother. 

She told The Mirror: ‘I’d rather be the reality of someone who has just had a child than the unrealistic version some people portray.

‘I don’t look how I used to – there are a few things I’m not happy with – but right now my ­children are my priority and I come second.’

Lucy, who played Chas Dingle in the ITV soap, also praised the Duchess of Sussex for showing her post-baby bump after giving birth to the royal baby.

She said: ‘Thank goodness, Meghan didn’t disguise her bump, she was the reality of what happens – you still have a tummy!’.

Lucy says she doesn’t feel pressured to go to the gym and would prefer to spend time with her children rather than fit a workout into her already hectic schedule.

The actress, who is engaged to partner Rudi Coleano, has been nominated for a host of accolades at the upcoming British soap awards.

But two particular nominations, Best On-Screen ­Partnership and Best Single Episode, are for a difficult and emotional storyline.

Her on-screen partner Paddy discovered their baby Grace has a genetic disorder which mean it would not survive. 

So they decide to carry the baby to full term to spend a few precious moments with her before she died and chose to donate the baby’s organs. 

Lucy admitted she found it difficult to film those scenes fiance but found comfort in returning home to her ‘three beautiful, healthy children’ Lola, 13, and twins Missy and Betsey.
