Megan Macey will be left reeling in Emmerdale when she discovers that dead lover, Frank Clayton, was about to ask her to marry him.
Megan – played by departing actress Gaynor Faye in the ITV soap – has been feeling conflicted over Frank as it’s looked ever likely that he started the blaze that ripped through the Sharma sweet factory.

Frank, who was played by Michael Praed, died as he saved his daughter Tracy Metcalfe from the devastating fire.
And Tracy will be the one who leaves Megan feeling mega guilty as she shows her the ring box she thinks Frank was trying to save when he lost his life.
As Frank is laid to rest this week, Megan has doubts over whether or not she should attend his funeral.
But she’s floored when Tracy reveals the ring, leaving her feeling guiltier than ever.

As she tries to process what Tracy’s told her – that Frank was about to ask her to marry him – Megan puts on the ring before breaking down in tears.
At the church, Tracy is on a mission to get everyone to believe that Frank was innocent and is left furious when even her own sister, Vanessa Woodfield, doesn’t support her.
As Frank’s funeral gets underway Megan will deliver some tough truths to the congregation. But will the ring lead to her making some important decisions about her own life – one away from the village?
Actress Gaynor – who is the daughter of screenwriter Kay Mellor – announced back in May that she was quitting the Dales after more than seven years playing Megan.
Speaking to Hello! about the departure, she said: “It’s a risk. I need to push myself out of my comfort zone.”
Before adding: “I’ve always been the type of person who doesn’t want to stay playing the same character for too long.”
Fans speculated that Megan would go to prison after accidentally knocking down pensioner Eric Pollard while she text lover Frank from behind the wheel.
Even worse, she had her young daughter Eliza in the car at the time.
Gaynor added: “If Megan goes to prison, I don’t think it’d be a great place for her. I think she’d definitely get into a lot of trouble in prison.
“But that could be a good thing – it’d be great to play! We have got a little prison set because so many people go to prison on this show!”
