Emmerdale spoilers: Cain Dingle gun drama aftermath unveiled amid horror shooting

Things are about to get tense on Emmerdale this week as Cain Dingle (Jeff Hordley) makes a lethal mistake.

Emmerdale spoilers have revealed the Cain will lash out in fury in upcoming scenes – accidentally hurting someone along the way.

Things kick off when Cain and Moira Dingle (Natalie J Robb) start fretting over the rustlers on their land.

Meanwhile, Moira leaves son Matty (Ash Palmisciano) and Victoria Sudden (Isabel Hodgins) gobsmacked when she reveals she’s signed the divorce papers to end her marriage with Cain.

Vic urges Moira to talk to Cain one more time, saying they could patch things up later down the line.

Cain tries to protect Moira as he grabs a gun

As Moira’s busy thinking over what she said, Nate Robinson (Jurrell Carter) rushes in to warn her about the rustlers.

Determined to help, Nate quizzes Cain about his relationship with Moira – and leaves the conversation convinced there’s hope for them yet.

Cain visits Moira the following day, and the two are sent into a frenzy when they hear a noise outside.

Brandishing a gun, Cain jumps to protect them – leaving Moira wondering where he discovered the firearm.

He heads out into the fields, where he discovers the body of a murdered sheep.

Moira will be left disappointed the incident doesn’t bring them back together

Racing back to the barn, Cain discovers someone inside, who happens to be approaching Moira.

Panicked, he shoots the stranger, but his face makes it clear that he recognises the injured local.

After the drama, Moira is hopeful that what she and Cain went through together might have reminded him of how he feels for her, seeing as he put his life on the line for her.

However, unfortunately for Moira, Cain makes it clear that this changes nothing – and he still wants the divorce.

This means Moira is finally forced to accept that this is the end for of their marriage as she removes her wedding ring.

Emmerdale airs tonight on ITV at 7pm and 8pm
