Emmerdale legend Zak Dingle 'replaced' as he finally makes return to Dales


Emmerdale’s Zak Dingle hasn’t been seen on the beloved soap for six months after actor Steve Halliwell took some time off after being rushed to hospital for a heart operation.

Emmerdale spoilers have revealed the actor is set to make his long-awaited return to the soap as he’s been back at work filming, but plenty has changed in the soap since his absence.

Zak was last seen months ago after the tragic death of the his late wife Lisa Dingle.

The iconic character found himself rekindling a former romance with Faith Dingle during his heartbreak, but decided to leave to get his head straight.

The infamous Dingle clan have certainly had their fair share of drama since Zak let, and it looks like he could be replaced.

Zak looks set to be replaced as he finally returns to the Dales

Sam looks set to take charge in spoilers revealed for next week, so Zak’s leading role may have been taken over by one of his own.

While Zak has been away, the Wishing Well Cottage has been looked after by Sam, his fiancé Lydia Hart and son Samson Dingle.

They let their cousin Mandy Dingle and her surrogate son Vinny move in when they arrived back on the soap last year.

Teasers for next week have revealed that Vinny leaves Sam furious after he steals a wedding ring and tries to get cash for it.

Sam takes on the role of clan leader and is determined to seek revenge on Vinny for his actions.

He threatens to take Vinny’s games console to the pawnbrokers saying: “See how he likes it.”

“Come on Sam, be the bigger man. Put it all back,” Lydia tells him.

Seeing Mandy and Vinny walking over, Samson yells: “Mandy, stop him. He’s taking all of Vinny’s stuff to the pawnbrokers.”

Mandy is left gobsmacked after Sam wants Vinny to leave the house.

Lydia says: “Until Zak’s back, it’s Sam who decides who lives here.”

With Zak set to make his return in upcoming episodes, how will he feel when he sees Sam taking position of leader?
