Emmerdale cast: Who plays Dawn in Emmerdale?


ITV soap Emmerdale will see vicar Harriet Finch (played by Katherine Dow Blyton) plunged into emotional turmoil this evening (Thursday, May 30). Harriet has been trying to stop Dawn Taylor (Olivia Bromley) from relapsing as well as dealing with her ex Will Taylor (Dean Andrews). Most recently, Dawn was revealed to be helping Will as part of a sick revenge plot against Harriet. Here’s everything you need to know about the character Dawn in Emmerdale.

Who plays Dawn in Emmerdale?

Dawn in Emmerdale is portrayed by actress Olivia Bromley, who has been playing the role since April 2018.

This is actress Bromley’s first big role to date after starring in the 2018 film Here Be Dragons.

The character of Dawn was a former prostitute, who was using sex to pay for her drug habit.

During her time in the Yorkshire Dales, Harriet has taken Dawn under her wing and tried to help the youngster stay off drugs.

WHY DID DAWN’S DAD GO TO JAIL IN EMMERDALE?

However, her benevolent actions were destroyed by the arrival of Dawn’s father Will.

Will, who got out of jail recently, started tormenting Harriet as soon as he arrived in Emmerdale.

He also used Dawn to help punish Harriet for sending him to jail.

Emmerdale fans learnt that during her time as a police officer, Harriet went on an undercover operation to apprehend drug smuggler Will.

WHO PLAYS DAWN’S DAD IN EMMERDALE?

Harriet and Will ended up in a relationship and she formed a bond with his daughter Dawn as well.

Despite her romantic liaison with Will, Harriet busted the drug smuggler and he was packed off to prison for his crimes.

Harriet had initially thought Will had died after coming out prison but to her horror, she found out he was very much alive and seeking vengeance.

The storyline involving Will and Harriet is expected to take some twists and turns particularly with Dawn at risk of relapsing.

Who is Dawn Woods in Emmerdale?

Some fans may have confused the character of Dawn Taylor with that of Dawn Woods, who was portrayed by Julia Mallam.

The character was in the soap between 2003 and 2006 as the daughter of Bob (Tony Audenshaw) and Jean Hope (Susan Penhaligon).

Sadly, Dawn died from her injuries after she was caught in the middle of an explosion at a house she went to view.

Despite the best efforts of the medical staff, and Dawn still being alive when she was pulled from the rubble, the character met a sad end.

Since starring in Emmerdale, actress Mallam has starred in the CITV show Captain Mack as well as roles in Casualty, Doctors and 2011 film Tyrannosaur.
