Emma Stone stars in an hilarious adult film sketch for Saturday Night Live

EMMA Stone brought her serious acting chops to an adult film set for this week’s Saturday Night Live.

The Oscar-nominated actress got involved in a hilarious sketch in which she plays a performer who – you might say – overthinks her role in a movie a little.

Sorting through a box of discarded props and finding a couple of pairs of jogging bottom, an Ugg boot and some Happy 2017 glasses, she makes herself imagine what kind of person would own those things.

Somehow, from these scraps she assembles a rich and complex backstory for her adult film star character Deirdre.

Even though literally no-one – not the director, not her co-stars and definitely not the audience  needed it.

Emma picked up an Academy Award nomination for her supporting role as Abigail Masham in The Favourite, and will next star in horror-comedy sequel Zombieland: Double Tap.

She’ll also soon be seen in a live-action spin-off of One Hundred and One Dalmatians titled Cruella, in which she will star as fur-crazed villain Cruella de Vil (originally played by Glenn Close in the 1996 live-action adaptation).
