Emma Bunton admits she's considered ELOPING with fiancé Jade Jones


She was spotted entering Enfield Registry Office, North London, in March where she applied for the official notice to get married. 

And Emma Bunton revealed that she’s not marrying her fiancé Jade Jones despite reports suggesting that she is during an interview with Zoe Ball on BBC Radio 2 on Friday. 

The Spice Girls star, 43, admitted that she and her singer partner, 40, would ‘love’ to tie-the-knot but they’re terrible at organising and want it to be private.

Asked if she was getting married, Emma said: ‘Well, no, I’m not… no we’re not, we would love to actually  and we have talked about it.

‘We try to, but we want it to be private, every time we try it’s out there. We want to do it privately on our own.’

She jokingly added: ‘We should elope, but we can’t organise anything Jade and me, we’ve been together 21 years in this business.’

Emma was spotted entering Enfield Registry Office, North London, where she was applying for the official notice in March amid reports that the couple were due to wed at celebrity hot spot London’s Old Marylebone Town Hall.

Speaking out: Asked if she was getting married, Emma said: 'Well, no, I'm not... no we're not, we would love to actually and we have talked about it.'

A notice of intent to marry must be given at least 28 full days before any nuptials are exchanged, it is then valid for 12 months – sparking speculation Emma and Jade could have very well be wedding in 2019. 

Emma and Jade have been together for 21 years, they first got together in 1998, but split a year later before reuniting for good in 2004, they have two sons together – Beau, 11, and Tate, seven.  

Emma was on the radio show to promote her new album My Happy Place, which was released on Friday, treating listeners to several life performances which included her classic hit What Took You So Long and her new song Baby Please Don’t Stop.

The singer has got a busy year ahead of her as next month, in May, she is reforming with the Spice Girls and touring across the UK with Mel B, Geri Horner and Mel C.

However, only recently, it was reported that the tour could be in jeopardy after Mel B revealed in March that she and Geri had a sexual fling which lasted for a whole year in the past during a taping for Piers Morgan’s Life Stories.

Geri denied Mel B’s claims in a statement and said she felt ‘hurt’ by the speculation, wanting to move on she added that she still loved all four of her bandmates and was looking forward to the tour. 

Addressing the recent reports, Emma said: ‘Still happening, yes, we’re all great. [On Mel B’s confession during Piers Morgan’s Life Stories] Yes, I know…’

To which radio host Zoe joked: ‘It was the 90s, a lot went down then…’ worried people might have interpreted what she said, she quickly added: ‘You know what I mean!’

Talking further about the tour, which fifth member Victoria Beckham won’t be joining, she said: ‘We’ve known since back at the Olympics [2012]  that Victoria wouldn’t, we huddled. We’re still in contact, she’s going to come watch the shows!’

Speaking about dance rehearsals, which start on Monday, Emma joked: ‘We’ve left it a bit late, we tour the end of May, I’ve got to learn all those dance moves!’

Emma also talked about her album launch, revealing: ‘It’s been really calm but today it hit me like tonne of bricks and I couldn’t sleep last night, I was nervous again.

Emma looked effortlessly chic for the radio interview in a black PVC skirt with a polo neck jumper tucked in.

She completed her look with a pink duster jacket over her shoulder, black platform heels and a leather tote bag.

Emma styled her signature peroxide blonde locks into a voluminous blow-dried hairdo, she added a slick of glamorous make-up.
