Emily Andre has spoken about her experiences being a first time mum, and confessed that she couldn’t leave the house for days after giving birth.
The 29-year-old shares two-year-old son Theodore, and five-year-old daughter Amelia with her hubby Peter Andre.
However, despite presenting an idyllic looking life, the star admitted that motherhood hasn’t always been as easy as it seems.
When chatting in her OK magazine column, the doctor urged other mums to speak out if they’re finding things tough after giving birth.
She wrote: ‘I’ve never suffered from postnatal depression, but I did struggle with certain things when I first became a mum.’
Emily revealed that she felt better about her worries after confiding in a friend.
The mother-of-two continued: ‘I have spoken to friends about this and they were saying how you could go two or three days without speaking to another adult and I was thinking about how I’ve experienced this too, and it was nice to feel that I wasn’t the only one!
‘You may feel it’s embarrassing to say you’ve been stuck at home for a week or you haven’t had anyone to talk to all day or you haven’t showered in a few days, but it’s better to be honest and open up if you’re struggling.’
The star has previously spoken about her brood, and how she is happy with having just the two babies… ‘for now.’
Reassuring her fans that she is in no rush to have another child, Emily said last month: ‘Pete recently said that we’d been chatting about another baby.
‘I’d say never say never when it comes to a third child, but it’s 100 per cent not happening at the moment as now is not the right time.’
She added: ‘I’m really busy and I’m focusing on my career. Pete also said he doesn’t want to be changing nappies when he’s 50, but that still gives us a couple of years!
‘In a couple of years, Theo will be going to school so maybe we will then.’
