“And then you’re in a shopping centre with your mum who is crying over your recently dead dad and someone comes up and asks you for a picture and you say no and they’re like, ‘I expected better from you, I thought more of you than that’.”
On BBC Breakfast this summer, Emilia spoke about setting up her charity, SameYou, which helps raise money for people recovering from brain injuries and strokes.
Explaining why helping others is important to her, she said: “It’s something that has been perceived to happen to older people. Therefore, when you’re a young person experiencing it, there’s a whole host of other mental health aspects that largely go unnoticed.
