You might have seen Emilia Clarke last take a leading role in Game Of Thrones as the formidable Daenerys Targaryen, so prepare for a whole new vulnerable side of the actress.

With the launch of the international trailer of Last Christmas dropping on the internet today, punters have been absolutely blessed with the singing talent of the actress.

And we’re not afraid to admit we have goosebumps, okay?

Emilia plays Kate, who is a right mess. From putting hairdryers into fish tanks (they do not go together if you didn’t already realise), to outwardly hating her job as an elf in a year-round Christmas decorations store, and ‘drinking like a pirate’ according to her worried mother (played by Emma Thompson), there’s a lot to unpack.

That all appeared to turn around when Crazy Rich Asians’ star Henry arrives as a Tom in shining armour.

However, the latest look at the upcoming definitely-going-to-be-a-classic movie sees Kate take to the stage to audition for a singing contest.

With the movie soundtracked by the bangers of George Michael, Emilia sings, totally a Capella, his hit Last Christmas and we’re not crying, you are.

As she shared the stirring rendition for a panel of three judges, they called her attempt ‘sh*t’, which isn’t very festive, if you ask us.

From there we see the brilliant Emilia doing what she does best as the vulnerable but legendary protagonist with a festive London as her backdrop.

She also gets pooped on by a bird. Like, right in the eye.

But perhaps best of all, it’ll be soundtracked by George, hence the title, with the late singer’s tunes and previously unreleased material signposting the madness, being helmed by A Simple Favor and Bridesmaids director Paul Feig.

Speaking about his sadness George isn’t here to see his music bringing the film to life, Paul described the film as a ‘love letter to London’ – but with more depth than initially meets the eye.

‘We refer to it as a dramatic romantic comedy,’ he previously said.

‘It’s got the idea of romance, but also of somebody trying to repair their life — of familial tensions and how a family is falling apart and what it takes to put a family back together and dealing with the aftermath of difficult situations.’

Last Christmas is in UK cinemas 15 November.
