Jason Momoa was so blown away by the surprise 40th birthday party thrown for him by his friends, that he just had to FaceTime his wife Lisa Bonet with his bestie Emilia Clarke by his side.
The Game of Thrones actor turns 40 on 1 August and had no idea that some of his close friends were planning on surprising him with a birthday bash at the Rosewood Hotel in London.
Fortunately it all went off without a hitch and it’s safe to say that Jason was well and truly stumped, admitting: ‘They f*****g got me.’
Jason’s pal Mada Abdelhamid, who trained the actor for his role as Khal Drogo in GoT, made sure to film the special evening for a YouTube video.
As the TV star got busy meeting fans and signing autographs at an event, Mada said at the beginning of the vlog: ‘Right now we made up some stupid excuse for him to leave. He really doesn’t need to leave.
‘All his friends all said they’re busy, they’re not in town. He thinks it’s just the three of us going to sushi. But we’re planning the f*****g party of the f*****g year.’
Cut to Jason walking into a room where everyone was waiting to surprise him and he looked absolutely stunned.
The Aquaman actor is later seen making his way around the room and mingling with guests before stopping for a sweet moment with his GoT co-star Emilia.
Jason couldn’t wait to share the exciting surprise with his wife Lisa, who wasn’t able to attend the party and appeared to be at home with their children, Lola, 12, and Nakoa-Wolf, 10.
Emilia, 32, is seen briefly greeting Lisa and the kids on the phone before Jason gives his wife a tour of the bash.
The surprise wasn’t over as Jason was later presented with a near life-size cake in the shape of a surfboard with a big wave on top.
Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson, who played The Mountain on Game of Thrones, was seen lifting the cake up and down while taking bites in between.
Light work of course for someone called The Mountain.
Over the weekend, Emilia shared a sweet photo from the party of her sharing a hug with Jason.
The British actress captioned the image: ‘With you I feel 2 feet small. X 2 @prideofgypsies HAPPY FREAKING BIRTHDAY BABY! An oversized bath tub of happiness for another year of you. #moonofmylifemysunandstars #finallyabathbigenoughtobathadragonin #thenbrokecosispentallmymoneyonbubblebath [sic].’
