Elton John places a TENT between himself and his private jet to avoid diva moments photographed

Sir Elton John has taken extreme measures to hide his diva antics from the paparazzi.

On Saturday, the 72-year-old British singer boarded a private jet at Sydney Airport under the cover of a large black tent – just days after he was pictured hurling a Gucci handbag out the aircraft’s door.

Elton’s marquee was pitched directly beneath the jet’s entrance and covered the majority of the staircase leading to the front door.

Elton arrived at the tent in a chauffeur-driven Porsche SUV with tinted windows.

For a fleeting moment, onlookers caught a glimpse of Elton as he darted from the vehicle into the tent.

He was joined by a group of security guards and airport staff clad in high-vis vests.

The Rocket Man star, who wore a striped tracksuit, then hurried up the staircase alongside several members of his entourage.

Elton is in Australia for his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour, which has been billed as his last ever tour of the country.

The sighting comes after Elton was caught in the midst of a diva moment when he hurled his $4,000 Gucci handbag out of his plane last Monday.

A member of Elton’s entourage caught the luxury bag and loaded it into the back of an Audi Q7 parked on the runway before the group drove away.

Elton also ruffled feathers at Perth’s HBF Park Stadium on November 30, when he launched a foul-mouthed rant at security guards who had tried to escort a woman out of the venue.

He called the men ‘c**ts’ and ‘turds’ as they tried to drag the woman out.

Footage from the concert showed Elton shouting from the stage: ‘Hey, you two security guards with the girl… f**k off! Let her up here immediately… come on, you c**ts!’ he added.

Elton’s diva moments

2004: Elton ignites a feud with Madonna, branding her a ‘fairground stripper’ after she won best live act at the Q Awards

2015: The singer calls for a boycott of Dolce & Gabbana after they came out in opposition to gay adoption – and was then pictured with one of their bags just hours later

2018: Elton invites fans up on stage with him while performing in Las Vegas, then tells them to ‘f*** off’ after getting too close and storms off

While thousands of fans gasped at Elton’s obscene language, many others could be heard cheering and clapping in the video.

Those at the gig said he played his next song before apologising for the outburst, saying its ‘something I’m really passionate about’.

It’s unclear why the woman was being removed from the venue.

Elton is famous for using foul language, both on and off stage, and has often been involved in spats with other stars, security, and even fans during his storied career.

In 2015 he unleashed on a group of security guards in the UK who were warning audience members not to put their hands in the air during the gig.

‘These people have come to hear music and if they want to put their hands in the air let them,’ Elton said, according to the Daily Mail. ‘This is not fu**ing China, so p**s off!

‘You’ve got a f***ing uniform on and you think you’re Hitler and you’re not. You can p**s off!’

'Come on, you c**ts!' Elton swore at two security guards while performing at Perth's HBF Park Stadium on November 30

After one female security guard was reduced to tears by his outburst, he invited her on stage to sit next to him as he played a song.

In 2004 he famously got involved in a long-running beef with Madonna after raging that she was awarded ‘best live act’ at the Q Awards.

‘Madonna, best live act? F**k off. Since when has lip-syncing been live?’ he fumed, before describing her as ‘a c***’ and a ‘fairground stripper’.

He also hit out at designers Dolce & Gabbana over comments they made about same-sex couples and IVF children in 2015, calling for a boycott.

In 1995 documentary Tantrums and Tiaras, filmed by now-husband David Furnish, Elton also launches some epic rants at his staff.

While filming the music video for hit single Believe, Elton rants: ‘I make music, I don’t make f***ing films.

‘I hate f***ing videos, they’re f***ing loathsome. And I tell you this: I am not doing this video,’ he added before snapping: ‘People who take flower-arranging classes should be shot.’

In March last year, the star even turned on the audience at his Las Vegas show despite inviting them on stage to dance alongside him.

A large group gathered around his piano while he played, but it seems at least one person got too close.

‘F**k off! You f**ked it up!’ he could be heard yelling, before later storming off the stage.
